Nearly half of the numismatic material kept in the University Library and Archives - University History Collection are commemorative medals and plaques that our institution received as gifts from partner universities. The plaque made for the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Comenius University in Bratislava, chosen as the artifact of the month, was presented to ELTE for the 375th anniversary of the founding of the Eötvös Loránd University.

A new RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) self-checkout terminal has been introduced at the ELTE ULA Savarai Library and Archives, making the borrowing process even faster and more convenient. This new service further enhances our library’s commitment to offering modern, user-friendly solutions to our visitors.

The Museum of Fine Arts opened the Kingdom of Gods and Demons. Mesopotamia 1000–500 BC on 5 October 2024, an exhibition that explores the ancient Mesopotamian heritage and culture that was the cradle of civilisation. More than 150 artefacts, including volumes from the ELTE University Library and Archives, will give visitors a glimpse into the lost world of the Bible and, indirectly, the origins of European culture.

ELTE has been granted one month trial access to CNKI's new artificial intelligence-based research tools, CNKI Smart and Scite. The databases are accessible from the university or from home, but require separate reginstration on the website.

ELTE has been granted trial access to two databases of the Korean Nurimedia, DBpia and KRpia. The databases are available in the entire IP range of ELTE.

Bristol University Press offered a 3 month long trial access to its full digital journal collections commence on 7th October 2024 and will run until 7th January 2025. Bristol University Press Digital is a comprehensive digital social science library which offers access to hundreds of journal articles, books and Open Access content.

The ELTE EKL Savaria Library and Archives took part in the professional day of the 2024 National Library Days. This event was particularly special as we celebrated both the 30th Vas County Library Day and the 70th anniversary of the Móra Ferenc Library. An interesting and topical presentation was given by Csaba Csuk, the head of the ELTE EKL Savaria Library and Archives, entitled „Artificial Intelligence from the User's Perspective: the impact of AI on our work and life”.

Zoltán Magyary (1888–1945) was an outstanding figure in Hungarian law and public administration, who put his outstanding scientific achievements into practice. He is credited with the foundation of the Hungarian Institute of Public Administration. He published his scientific results in four languages. The entire archive is available now in the ELTE Digital Institutional Knowledge Repository.
