The ELTE University Library and Archives’ series of therapy dog programs during exam season concluded amid great interest. As part of the initiative, more than a thousand students participated in 21 sessions featuring five therapy dogs. The program’s goal was to contribute to students’ mental well-being and provide support amid the increased stress of exam season.

The members of the ELTE Heritage Coordination held their first coordinators' day of the year on June 24, 2026, in Göd, at the Huzella Garden, with fifteen participants, including new members. The program began with a professional meeting, then they took part in a meaningful historical walk and museum visit led by László Papp, where they could learn about the past of the place and the Huzella family. The event was not only professionally useful, but also strengthened community building, and new connections and inspiring collaborations were created.

According to our tradition, this year we joined the Night of Museums series of events, which featured the exhibition MTA 200 – Academicians at the university along with craft workshops, concerts, guided tours of the building, exhibitions, animated film screenings, calligraphy workshop, recipe collection, adventure game and restoration workshop presentations.

The 2026 edition of the Journal Citation Reports™ (JCR) provides the global research community with trusted, transparent metrics to assess journal performance and scholarly influence. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how the JCR supports informed decision-making for authors, editors, librarians, research managers, as well as best practices for responsibly using journal-level metrics, including the Journal Impact Factor (JIF), available in JCR profiles along with descriptive open access and contributor information. The session will conclude with practical examples and a live Q&A.

The OpenAIRE Train-the-Trainer Bootcamp aims to prepare professionals working in the field of research support for delivering training on current issues in Open Science, Open Access publishing, and research data management. Staff members from the ELTE University Library and Archives also participated in the program, held 25–29 May, 2026, further expanding and deepening their professional knowledge.

ULA Savaria Library and Archives (Szombathely, Hungary)
After twenty years of working together, the staff of the ELTE EKL Savaria Library and Archives bid farewell to Éva on the occasion of her retirement. She joined our university as a librarian at the Institute of Pedagogy, which closed in 2006. We worked together on integrating the 30,000-volume library into the SKL collection, as well as on joint programs such as library competitions, Book Sundays and Teen Gallops. Éva has always remained a librarian at heart and has continuously supported our library’s reader services through volunteer work. We are deeply grateful for her work and cooperation. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.

The webinar, organized by Clarivate, provides doctoral students with useful knowledge about scientific publishing, especially choosing the right journal and scientometric evaluation. The presentation will cover, among others, the interpretation of journal indicators, the recognition of predatory publishers, and the application of publication ethics and responsible measurement principles. The online event will be held on 25 May 2026, is subject to registration, and is part of a five-part, interconnected, but also separately accessible program series.
