In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Library Palace’s opening, an exhibition is launching at the ELTE University Library and Archives.
Through the documents on display, visitors gain insight into the adventurous past of the Library Palace, the plans and sketches of the Franciscan monastery – which housed the collection for nearly a century – and the subsequent building, the history of the unique artifacts and furnishings, the bomb shelter planned for the basement, the reading rooms of yesteryear, and the inner courtyard, which was once adorned with a flower garden and a pond.
Date: 19 September 2026, 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Venue: ELTE University Library and Archives, Historic Storage Room on the 2nd floor
Everyone is welcome to join us on this journey through history!
