The ELTE–NFI FILMIO University Film Club screening and discussion series continues. We welcome university members from all ELTE faculties.

The ELTE University Library and Archives places special emphasis on students’ mental health, which is why well-trained, friendly therapy dogs visit our library during exam season to help reduce stress and boost well-being.

The Hungarian Association of Higher Education Archives (MFLSZ) held its traditional annual conference from April 28 to 30, 2026, hosted by the ELTE ULA Savaria Library and Archives.

As part of the annual Carpathian Basin educational program, the Sustainability Theme Week and the Green Bridge Volunteer Expert Program, we welcomed groups of elementary and high school students to the green library presentations at the ELTE University Library and Archives between April 13 and 30, 2026.

In celebration of Mother’s Day and the upcoming Children’s Day, we warmly invite children and families to join us. (The film is recommended for ages 12 and up.)

The ELTE University Library and Archives will be closed on the 1st and 2nd of May 2026. We wish you a happy holiday weekend!

The ELTE University Library and Archives offers extended opening hours in the Great Reading Hall and in the community space for readers and students between the 4th of May 2026 and the 13th of June 2026, staying open until 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays. Our community space offers the opportunity to learn, relax, use kitchen facilities and free computer access. The self-service facilities in the lobby will continue to be available with a valid library card on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.

As part of Cultural Connection Day on 23 April 2026, international and domestic students were able to obtain information about our library services and available databases at the ELTE University Library booth on the Lágymányos Campus.

Our series, titled „Mosaics from the Heritage of ELTE”, presents some of the outstanding cultural heritage of Eötvös Loránd University. The artwork of the month is the Péter Pázmány University Commemorative Cup.

With the support of the ELTE University Film Club, the National Cultural Fund (NKA), and the Hungarian Documentary Filmmakers’ Association (MADOKE), we are launching a documentary film series featuring works by Hungarian filmmakers. The next screening will feature Márton Vizkelety’s 2025 film My Chemical Information System. All interested parties are warmly invited to attend the event.

With the support of the ELTE University Film Club, the National Cultural Fund (NKA), and the Hungarian Documentary Filmmakers’ Association (MADOKE), a documentary film screening series featuring works by Hungarian filmmakers is being launched. The next screening will feature Balázs Simonyi’s 2017 film Ultra.

During the Easter holidays, between the 3rd and the 6th of April 2026, the ELTE University Library and Archives is closed.

On March 24, 2026, a delegation from the University Library and Archives paid a professional visit to the Hungarian National Archives’ building on Bécsi kapu tér. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to fostering inter-institutional relations and sharing best practices, and expressed their hope for future joint collaborations.

With the support of the ELTE University Film Club, the National Cultural Fund, and the Hungarian Documentary Filmmakers’ Association, a screening series featuring documentary films by Hungarian filmmakers is being launched. The next screening will feature Dorottya Zurbó’s 2018 film entitled Easy Lessons.
