At the first quarterly report of the K21 Quality Coordination Committee 2023, the leaders of the working groups reported on the results of the past quarter, ongoing work and changes.

Save a book, adopt it! Our volume presented in April is a missal printed in 1704 in Nagyszombat, which is one of the highlights of the book adoption program of the University Library Foundation.

Bloomsbury Publisher has offered a two-month trial access to EISZ member institutions that is available between the 1st of April and the 31st of May 2023. The three history databases are accessible from the ELTE internet network and via VPN for remote access.

The ELTE Disability Center (SHÜTI), an office of the university with the aim to ensure equal opportunities to students with special needs, has published a booklet entitled Equal Access in Higher Education: Information for Lecturers and Academic Staff. The publication edited by Krisztina Kovács, the University's Disability Coordinator is available in all ELTE faculty libraries, as well as in the ELTE University Library and Archives.

Preprint Citation Index is a multidisciplinary collection of preprints from a wide range of leading preprint repositories. The link to the video recording of the presentation in Hungarian is available in our article.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, in 1773, Pope Clement XIII dissolved the Jesuit order, accelerating the process of the university's transfer to the state. Between 1635 and 1773, many distinguished Jesuits of great knowledge taught at our university, leaving a lasting mark on the history of the institution. In March our feature is on Ferenc Weiss, one of the founders of the Buda University Observatory and a pioneer of engineering education in Hungary.

In the first half of 2023 Elsevier offers free online trainings in English and Hungarian for researchers, university lecturers, MA and PhD students and librarians. The first session will provide useful information on research data management.

The Repository Certification Committee of the MTMT issued certificates to two more scientific online journals affiliated with the ELTE Faculty of Humanities. The „Névtani Értesítő” and the „Dissertationes Archaeologicae ex Instituto Archaeologico Universitatis de Rolando Eötvös nominatae” journals won MTMT Qualifications, which is considered outstanding both within the university and nationwide.

Our series entitled “Mosaics from the heritage of ELTE” presents some of the key material cultural heritage of the Eötvös Loránd University. The object of the month is the Szondi test.

The latest volume of Júlia Varga, archivist of the ELTE University Library and Archives, was presented on the 2nd of March 2023.

Yale University provided 60 day institution-wide trial of two databases, eHRAF World Cultures and eHRAF Archaeology. The trial period ends on 24 April 2023.

As part of our service expansion, self-service scanning became available in our library from the 1st of March 2023.

After several years of preparation, self-service borrowing and return based on radio frequency identification became available in our library.

The ELTE University Library and Archives will be open from the 27th of February 2023 with full opening hours.

The records of students who obtained a doctorate at the university are now available from 1894. The doctoral records in the archive contain a total of 40239 names: the names of all students who obtained a doctoral degree at our university between 1894 and 1950.

Support the restoration of old Hungarian books of the ELTE University Library and Archives! In 2023, we recommend the pieces of one of the most valuable collections of the University Library, the ‘Old Hungarian Prints Collection’ to adopt.

We provide information on which databases the Eötvös Loránd University will subscribe to within the scope of the EISZ in this year. The Electronic Information Service National Program (EISZ) provides access to electronic scientific content by purchasing a national license for participants in higher education, public collections and non-profit research.
