EBSCO has offered trial access to the SocINDEX with Full Text database, that is available on the EBSCOhost platform until the 31st of December 2023. SocINDEX is the authoritative bibliographic database for sociology research. The database offers indexed records from top sociology journals covering many related studies.

The database includes bibliographical data for 1,500,000 dissertations and theses, all of which are accessible in full text. The database and EBSCOhost, when connected to the ELTE internet network directly or through the use of VPN services, are accessible both on and off-campus.

EBSCO's Customer Training Specialist, Tibor Foltinsky conducts an online training for librarians, who can thus provide effective assistance to researchers and library visitors in the search for scientific information and can also hold training sessions for interested users.

In agreement with the partner publishers, Arcanum Adatbázis Kiadó Kft. has offered free trial access to the databases available on the SZAKTÁRS platform until December 31, 2023.

EBSCO has offered trial access to the MLA International Bibliography with Full Text database, which offers an extensive collection of full-text journals in addition to bibliographic data. The test period lasts until 31 December 2023.

Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) offered trial access to EISZ member institutions. The database can be tested by connected to the university's internet network until 17. 09. 2023. Remote access to the database is possible using a VPN service.

Free trial access to the databases of CNKI was opened until the end of September. CNKI is the most complete scientific platform in China. In addition to Chinese sources, it also covers international scientific content.

The ELTE University Library and Archives will be carrying out database maintenance on the 15th and 16th of July 2023, therefore the online catalogue and library system of the University Library Service will be temporarily unavailable during this period. The National Programme for Electronic Information Services and the Eötvös Loránd University of Applied Sciences have contracted to support Open Access publishing for ELTE affiliated authors and several publishers.

On the 12th of June 2023, the ELTE University Library Service's K21 Quality Management Coordination Committee's Accessible Library Working Group organized a successful awareness-raising and sensitization training on autism for ELTE librarians at the Ecseri Road building of the Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Education.

We are happy to announce that the Scopus Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB) has accepted the application of the journal Dissertationes Archaeologicae ex Instituto Archaeologico Universitatis de Rolando Eötvös nominatae to the Scopus database and will start indexing it. The journal is archived in ELTE EDIT repository, and it is an „MTMT Qualified Journal” from 2023.
